Now we’ve got these onto our heads we can see (or hear) what all the fuss is about, the headset produces some epic sound when you’re gaming and in titles like Battlefield 1 the bass produced from firing a howitzer is extremely satisfying \o/ The volume on these is also quite remarkable, at full it’s so loud it feels like your ears are taking damage but still it maintains a clarity often missing in headsets when turned up so far, no crackles here 🙂 While we don’t recommend putting with one on full noise when gaming this headset isn’t just for gaming – listening to music via our phones when out and about was an enjoyable experience. There’s a little microphone built into the left side which provides pretty good voice chat options and this also did well in the wind outside, great stuff Cooler Master! The last little bit we really liked was the shape of the earcups, being tall enough to fit a ear without pinching allowed us to do some marathon gaming sessions with these without discomfort which is always nice 😛 Overall it’s a great headset for just about anyone, customisation is a plus and Cooler Master got the essentials pretty spot on, on that note we happily give this new set of ear cannons our GGPC recommends award – the MasterPulse Gaming Headset is GOOD! read review...

In the MasterPulse Over-Ear, Cooler Master has produced a nifty, well-rounded gaming headset with solid sound quality and high levels of comfort over long periods. The lack of an external microphone is also a boon in our books, and in spite of a few niggles here and there it does enough to earn a recommendation at the competitive price of £60. Even so, Cooler Master, like all headset manufacturers at the moment, will have trouble tempting users away from the HyperX Cloud and Cloud II headsets. These have effectively become the go-to headsets, and for good reason: they're unmatched in sound quality and comfort for the price bracket they occupy, and despite a solid effort in both departments this headset doesn't change that. read review...

Voor Cooler Master, en elke andere 60-70 euro headset, zit de uitdaging in de mega concurrentie en het feit dat je voor een paar euro extra modellen ziet die net weer even wat beter zijn, tot een euro of 80-100 maak je vaak toch flinke stappen en modellen die er net onder zitten moeten, hoe goed ze dan ook mogen zijn, het toch voor een groot deel hebben van kopers met een duidelijk vast budget. Zo moet ook Cooler Master zijn meerdere erkennen in de iets duurdere HyperX Cloud II (of eigenlijk, de OEM die daar achter zit en onder meerdere merknamen te vinden is) die vooral bij muziek laat horen dat er wel een stapje meer kwaliteit in de drivers zit, wat meer detail biedt, al rest de vraag in hoeverre verschillen bij het spelen van shooters nu echt een naam mogen hebben. Die headset overtreffen als all-rounder lijkt al ruime tijd een pittige uitdaging voor alle headset fabrikanten en we zien ze dan toch ook vooral in de meer specifieke wensen aandeel proberen af te snoepen. In dit geval zal het de combinatie BassFX en gesloten constructie zijn die bass liefhebbers zullen moeten aantrekken, want daar vinden we meerwaarde in dit model ten opzichte van de meeste alternatieven. De bass is, indien gewenst uiteraard met de BassFX functie, ruim bovengemiddeld aanwezig en ook wat strakker dan gebruikelijk in deze prijsklasse, en deze headset dempt daarbij ook meer geluid van buiten dan we normaliter zien, iets wat de lage tonen nog een steuntje in de rug lijkt te geven. De verwisselbare (of eenvoudig modbare / 3D-printable) covers zijn nog een leuke extra voor wat Cooler Master ‘de makers’ noemt, maar als echte praktische feature is dat wat verder gezocht dan de BassFX implementatie. Laatstgenoemde blijft zodoende toch over als primaire unieke selling point, al zal het design en de merknaam daar ook nog een rolletje in kunnen vervullen, iets wat ik uiteraard aan de lezer over laat om te beoordelen. read review...
