 Introduction

Innovative circuitry layout has resulted in industry-leading efficiency levels, thanks to the high performance active clamp switch design, dual-VRM circuit boards for maximized 12V conversion to 5V and 3.3V and re-design of circuit board layout.


The UCP series is meant for powering the high-end system setups; with circuit protection in mind to prolong the life-time of the power supply. Features that enable this includes: soft-start circuitry to limit inrush currents (a Cooler Master unique feature) and the usage of quality components such as solid capacitors and intelligent fan control.

    All´UCP 900W manca inoltre la possibilità di configurare i cavi. Il produttore ha scelto di utilizzare cavi molto lunghi che risulteranno sicuramente ottimali per il montaggio in case di grosse dimensioni, tali da poter raggiungere ogni punto sulla scheda madre o verso qualunque periferica da alimentare. Se comunque fosse stata offerta la possibilità di "eliminare dal mazzo" i cavi non utilizzati nella propria configurazione, crediamo che nessuno si sarebbe dispiaciuto.

    Cooler Master offers a very god PSU. Efficiency is as good as it gets; and you won’t have to worry about the number of connectors and they are long enough to reach each power hungry part inside the computer case. The UCP 900W got 80 Plus Silver Certificate and that says enough about quality. It is almost silent and the fan does its job.

    This power supply would be ideal for anyone looking to build beefy multi core gaming / workstation system with two or more video cards.  It is SLi Certified for up to two nVidia GeForce 8800 Ultra's, which is great.  I'm sure that this power supply can handle the newer GeForce's in SLi as well.  It also has an abundance of power cables and more than enough PCI-e power connectors for running multiple graphics cards. The fan is also quiet and is great to find in a 900 watt class power supply. At around $280, this power supply is quite expensive for what it offers.  Antec's 1000 watt TruePower Quattro is priced at around $200.  Overall, this is an excellent power supply and should be purchased by anyone looking for high efficiency, amazing output performance, and great build quality.

    The UCP 900W power supply is another good addition to Cooler Mater's full line up of PC switching mode PSUs.  The UCP 900W power supply's voltage regulation, line regulation and cross-loading regulation are all good. The overall efficiency is excellent and AC ripple noise suppression is good, especially on the +12V outputs.  Under normal operating conditions (below 600W load) the UCP 900W is very quiet.  The PSU comes fitted with a large assortment of hard-wired cables and connectors that can support multiple, high-end video cards.  And let's not forget that industrial look finish, active PFC, and a 5-year warranty.
