UCP 700W
(RS-700-AAAA-A3)

 Introduction

Innovative circuitry layout has resulted in industry-leading efficiency levels, thanks to the high performance active clamp switch design, dual-VRM circuit boards for maximized 12V conversion to 5V and 3.3V and re-design of circuit board layout.

The UCP series is meant for powering the high-end system setups; with circuit protection in mind to prolong the life-time of the power supply. Features that enable this includes: soft-start circuitry to limit inrush currents (a Cooler Master unique feature) and the usage of quality components such as solid capacitors and intelligent fan control.

 Features
  • VRM(Voltage Regulation Module) Circuit offers high efficiency and Power density.
  • Ultra-silent operation with intelligent 120mm fan speed control
  • Eco-design for energy and money saving by Active PFC.(>0.9) / high efficiency(>88%)
  • Power Failure Indicator will light up if OVP /OCP / OPP / SCP / UVP /OTP occurs
  • Soft-start circuit A protection mechanism that limits the input inrush current by delaying the actual power-on of the PSU to prevent damage to it.
  • Green mode PFC control circuit by intelligent PWM power conversion
  • By using a single 12V switching circuit design you get a more efficient AC to DC conversion which leads to an overall more efficient PSU
  • Compliance with the newest Intel standard ATX 12V V2.3
  • Compliance with the newest SSI standard EPS 12V V2.92
  • Five-year warranty

A differenza di quanto si possa pensare, il vero cuore di un computer è l'alimentatore. Il processore, semmai, rappresenta il cervello a cui compete la gestione di tutto.

Cooler Master’s latest flagship product, UCP 700W has very good results. Basically it is difficult to criticize this product with up to 87 percent efficiency, it is one of the best around.

Well I have to say when I pulled this case out of the box it was in I was amazed not only at how wide it was but also the size of the fans in it. I have never seen a case before that come with not one but three 230mm x 30mm fans.

When I had this case sitting on the table you couldn't help but admire how bad ass looking it was and that was an empty case. The flat black finish on the case just gives it that cool look that you normally don't see in a lot of computer cases.

One of the best rated PSU's on the market today , Cooler Masterdelivers a quality product, rated and certified for confidence and backed up with 5 years of warranty its not surprising this is a rugged tough PSU. Though it does not have a modular design for the output cables making it a mittle messy to contain and hide in your case if thats your thing. Overall the design and looks are of high quality which compliment its power efficiency and energy saving consumption which in my books is all you really need in a performance gaming rig.

The outstanding 80 PLUS Silver rating was backed up nicely by our simple Kill-A-Watt testing.  This certification coupled with a boasted peak power rating of 840 Watts makes the UCP-700 by far the best rated power supply we have tested here at the club.

In operation the UCP was extremely quiet which I know many of us will like. It was impossible to hear the UCP when you have components like the HD4850 X2 in your rig. And also the support for multiple GPU's is a big plus because the release of the X58 chipset will allow many to upgrade to another GPU.

This power supply is a little pricy but it does its job. I have been impressed by multiple things regarding the power supply :
    -the included bundle
-the special coating that covers all the power supply
    -the solid, sturdy, military look
-its low power consumption while the computer is off
    -its efficiency
