It achieved a performance similar to the best coolers we've already tested, performing better than some really good coolers. Probably this is due to its design, with two unaligned fans, which helps to achieve a good airflow.

Regarding its looks, Cooler Master did also a good job, with both the fans glowing in blue. You can say it is a good performance cooler by just looking at it.

It is a beautiful high-performance cooler reasonably priced, so it deserves the Hardware Secrets Golden Award seal.

To sum it all up, Cooler Master's new Hyper N620 CPU cooler is BIG, both in physical size and performance, yet leaves a relatively small acoustic footprint. The included blue LED fans are a nice addition and the mounting solution is very robust, if a bit fussy to install. If maximum cooling and impressive looks are at the top of your list when shopping for a CPU cooler, don't overlook the Hyper N620. Just be sure it will fit inside your case.

Pros:
- Innovative design
- Beautiful aesthetics
- Great cooling
- Excellent build quality
- Sturdy mounting solution
- Two blue LED fans included
- Six heatpipes
- Relatively quiet

This is a cooler I would be happy to have on just about any system.  I was more than a little pleased with the CPU temps and happy that my other temps didn’t change much. Installation was a breeze with my case mod.  I was also happy to have the PWM fans.  Most modern motherboards accommodate this feature to control fan speed.

Overall, Coolermaster's Hyper N620 is a heatsink I totally recommend. Not only does it look pretty good, it's also well built and, best of all, it performs right up there along with the market leaders. As long as you don't expect the horrible instruction manual to help you getting it installed, the Hyper N620 is available now for right under $60 and is a heatsink you won't regret getting.

The Cooler Master Hyper N620 lived up to my expectations. It is solidly built, engineered well, and performs well. The heatsink works on a variety of mounting types, even back to socket 754, which I was surprised about. The Hyper N620's base is slightly concave, as I pointed out the "pinch" on my nose while looking at my reflection in the otherwise mirrored finish base. I did check with a straight edge up against a light, and it was clear that there was a slight concavity. Not much, but it was there. Also, the heat pipes weren't flush on the sides of the base and had some unknown compound to fill the cracks. If the base was completely square and the heat pipes were more snugly fit into the base, I'm sure that a few extra degrees could have been squeezed out of this one. While nearly polished to a mirror finish, more still could have been done to the base as well as the heat pipe contact with it.  I believe that Cooler Master would have an excellent cooler if a little more attention was paid to these areas. Nonetheless, this cooler can be had for about $50 and the price to performance ratio is very reasonable.

I like the fact that the Cooler Master Hyper N620 is Asymmetrical. It gives the cooler a distinctive look. The Asymmetrical design, in theory, should allow for better airflow through the fins of the heatsink by staggering the air flow and the fins should dissipate heat more evenly. I also like the price, at 50 dollars the Hyper N620 is about the same to 20 dollars less than some high end CPU coolers in its class and out performs some tested (Noctua $71.99 USD, Thermaltake ISGC 400 $57.99 USD, Titan Fenrir $49.99 USD).

If you are looking for quality CPU cooling that delivers outstanding performance and your wallet is just about to start producing moths, the Cooler Master Hyper N620 is an affordable solution that delivers above average cooling at a price others cannot compete with.

The Hyper N620 definitely has the bases covered with a polished base, many heat pipes, and lot’s of cooling surfaces. Plus, there is as much as 83.6 CFM flowing through the cooler at max. Most importantly, it is a nicely constructed CPU cooler offering great performance at very acceptable noise levels. It’s designed more to combat extreme heat rather than turn your computer case in to a massive “bling” box which many people will appreciate.

CoolerMaster has hit the nail on the head, as it were, with the Hyper N620. They have created an outstanding cooler that will help eek out every MHz out of your processor. Both fans on the Hyper N620 are controlled via the PWM headers on the motherboard. For the test I set the options in the BIOS to run the fans at a medium speed. This resulted in RPMs that hovered between 900 and 1300 which resulted in a fairly quite operation of the cooler. Cranking the fan speeds up to the max yielded a little more noise than usual, but nothing that would be too distracting. Even with the fans running at full speed, the hard drive noise emanating from the case was considerably more noticeable. Overall I couldn't be more pleased with the CoolerMaster Hyper N620 and it receives our Editor's Choice Award.

Benchmark Reviews

Most cooling products that come from the Cooler Master labs are both functional and fashionable, and the new Hyper N620 CPU cooler attaches itself to both qualities from the beginning. Equipped with a dual-fan design and high-flow heatsink fins, the Hyper N620 is built for overclockers and enthusiasts alike. The Cooler Master RR-B20-N620-GP kit offers a large six-pipe cooler with two 120mm cooling fans, and a unique offset fan alignment for optimal airflow.

As seen in the review PCWizKid got terrific results which proves that Cooler Master track record for CPU coolers is exceptional and a trustworthy choice for anyone looking to keep their system cool.  Compared to the V8 and V10 from Cooler Master the Hyper N620 follows through with its capabilities to handle overclocking.  PCWizKid has used the Cooler Master Cooler with high end Phenom II's and using the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 has no different.  So if your in the market for a new AMD or Intel CPU and a cooler to go with it, for about $50 US you can get this terrific mainstream cooler that shines inside and out!

After installing the N620 the idle temp remained the same which sort of disappointed me. However after checking the temperatures after gaming there was a decrease in temperature as the system would average 98 degrees while gaming. That’s 5 degrees lower than the default heat sink and fan.

But something I noticed immediately was how silent the N620 was compared to the default heat sinks. I could barely hear it.

Very impressive, the Hyper N620 stands tall among the top air coolers. It does very well to keep processor heat under control and does so in style with a good-looking and very functional design. The Hyper N620 receives the Editor's Choice Award and also my full recommendation.
