The Cooler Master Sileo 500 is a very well done example of sound and vibration management by addressing the source of the noise. Some things could have been handled better such as rubber mounting the case fans or providing sound damping latches to both sides of the drive bays. However those are actually minor issues considering the lower price point.

Cooler Master has this case on sale on the market for around $100, making it a good bargain as you also get a 500W PSU included with the bundle. This case is a solid value for the user wanting good features on a silent case and it delivers it in spades.

So the Sileo 500 is extremely silent, does a reasonable job of keeping the components cool. The redesigned drive retention brackets are a major improvement over the old design as far as vibration and noise is concerned. The styling of the case is a little bland to me compared to Cooler Master’s other product line.

The Cooler Master Sileo 500 does indeed bring to the table what was described and touted by its makers. After proving that it can live up to such exaltation, the Sileo 500 receives the Alien Babel Tech Recommended award with an overall score of 9/10.

In working with the Cooler Master Sileo 500, I was utterly blown away by how well the sound dampening material works. Being the defining feature of this case, I can attest to the fact that the sound dampening material really sets this case apart from other cases I have worked with.

The CoolerMaster did not do that bad of a job considering it only has two placed where air can be brought into the case. For a retail price of $70.00 I don't think you could hardly go wrong with a case like this if you are wanting silent operation.

Cooler Master's Sileo 500 doesn't sacrifice construction or capacity, and they're selling this quiet case for less than I'd expect.

Cooler Master Sileo 500 truly does excel at it's namesake: silence. The two 800rpm 120mm fan are nearly inaudible, while the insulating foam helps dampen any additional noise. Top it off with a decent 500W power supply, and the Sileo 500 is a great starting point for any silent build.

It is clear to us that Coolermaster is thinking about silence. They're not quite there yet, but if the Sileo is any indication, they are well on their way.

In summary, we liked Sileo 500, as we think it provides a good cost/benefit ratio for the average user looking for a sober-looking mid-tower case with good construction quality for building a quiet PC.

The Sielo 500 from Cooler Master is the most silent chassis I have used to date. The sub $100 asking price with an included power supply is a huge bonus.

This chassis is not perfect but in this price range there is no other competitor who can offer you a well finish chassis silent oriented. For 65€ the Sileo 500 just kick off the offer of Antec. Furthermore with a PSU as you can find it at 90 € indeed the Sonata III is more than 100€.

As I mentioned, there were a few issues with the tool-less design features. However, once everything was installed, we were rewarded with an extremely silent case. Paired with an equally quiet heatsink and two Western Digital Green drives, the computer was virtually inaudible.
True to Cooler Master's reputation, the Sileo 500 is also very well constructed. I didn't notice any sharp edges during installation and it felt solid to work with. My only complaint is that the tool-less expansion slots felt a bit insecure when loaded with a heavy graphics card. Fortunately, the tool-less clamps can easily be bypassed in favor of screws.
The power supply does add to the cost, but at $99.99 from NewEgg, it's still a great value. If you prefer to use your own power supply, though, you can find the base model on sale for just $54.99. At that price, anyone looking to build a silent home or office PC would be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

The Cooler Master Sileo 500 case ended up being one of the quietest cases I have ever used. The Sileo 500 has a simple look with great features and great quality.

Overall I really do think that the Cooler Master Sileo 500 Chassis did alright. It might not have been designed with cooling in mind, but when it came to noise, bar none, it is the quietest I have ever heard, or I guess didn’t hear. I have used some gaming cases in the past, and to see the numbers of this case not far off of those cases is amazing.

The Cooler Master Sileo 500 is the cheapest case we tested. It's also the lightest. It's very much "bare bones" with few amenities, but if you want a fairly standard system that can support high-end GPUs and CPUs, then the Sileo 500 is what you want.

Now with all that said, the Cooler Master Sileo 500 gets overall high marks from us for hitting the mark on quality, fit and function. When you factor in the price point of $70, the Sileo 500 becomes an outright great deal. Cooler Master continues to offer high end features without the high end prices to the hardware community. The Sileo 500 is no different and walks away with a very solid recommendation for a silent case choice.

There are plenty of manufacturers who haphazardly slap the words 'quiet' or 'silent' on their products, but few take the trouble of implementing even the most basic design elements to back up their claims. Looking at the case's design, it is clear to us that Coolermaster is thinking about silence. They're not quite there yet, but if the Sileo is any indication, they are well on their way.

Cooler Master has done a good job of defining their target market and providing a case that addresses the needs of that niche market. I you're in the market for a chassis with aggressive acoustic features, the Sileo 500 is a great choice and brings a lot of other nice features along with it. Mr. Bones likes it, and I like it ,too.

Overall this case is a great silent mid tower chassis. While I wouldn't recommend it for 4X SLI and other crazy installations, I do think this case would be great for anyone looking for a mid tower case that keeps quiet. It offers a very easy, tool-free installation, making it easy for anyone to install.

Coolermaster has reduced the tradeoff between noise and cooling. While the case is lacking some of the features that their other cases have, you have to keep in mind the audience that this case is geared for. This case is for the home or office user that doesn't want to hear the familiar noises generated by a computer during its operations; it is not designed for the overclocker or the enthusiast with a multi-GPU setup. If you take that aspect into consideration, I can find no faults with this case and its set up and I would not hesitate to recommend this case to a user that is looking for silent computing.

The Coolermaster Sileo 500 is a very well made and decent chassis for anyone who cherish their silence. Cooling performance is OK, considering there are only 2 x 120mm silent, low rpm fans to cool the entire chassis. It may not be suitable to most gamers or enthusiasts, but it is one of the most silent chassis we've tested to date ... ideal for the office or home study.
OVERALL SCORE 8/10

"The Cooler Master Sileo 500 Case is one of a few silent computer options. It has acoustic foam on both side panels, top and bottom. This means that the case is really quiet and it's an excellent option for anyone who requires a quiet computer system. It also comes with lots of drive bays, two 120mm fans, tooless design and looks great."

Although the Cooler Master Sileo 500 is a basic looking case, it's far from generic. Cooler Master has included some of their best features in this case, while keeping the retail cost down to about $60. Don't ask me how they can do it, but Cooler Master has somehow pulled it off. You have to applaud Cooler Master for delivering a good quality computer case without skimping on the features. The Sileo 500 is only one of a handful of computer cases that can deliver both quality and useful features in the $50 to $75 price range. If you're a system builder or you're just looking for a good quality case without breaking the bank, the Sileo 500 is where you need to look. Club Overclocker Recommended!
